" We turned our
backs on this promise by bringing to life the ancient dream of Egypt --
compulsory subordination for all. That was the secret Plato reluctantly
transmitted in The Republics when Glaucon and Adeimantus exhorted from
Socrates the plan for total state control of human life that would be
necessary to maintain a society where some people took more than their
share. "I will show you," said Socrates, "how to bring about such a
feverish city, but you will not like what I am going to say." "
-John Taylor Gatto, "Dumbing Us Down"
The first installment of Cut And Run will be an introduction to the United States Of America. You might think "I've lived here all my life, I don't need an introduction to the USA". Oh, but you do. At least, most of you do. Those who have been living their conscious lives in the fantasy that was outlined for them long ago in Grade School, Kindergarten, and on TV.
We are lead to believe that our Founding Fathers righteously created the Best Country In The World in response to the Decadence of Europe, or the Restrictions of Europe, depending on whose story you are listening to. That these pillars of the community did something that was best for us and now we should be extremely grateful to live in a place where "Anyone Can Make Something Of Themselves If They Work Hard Enough". And if there is any difficulty here, "At Least We Are Not Starving In India Or Africa". How many times have you heard that?
In this fantasy, Public Officials are always out to help you, and fellow citizens follow basic rules of politeness and order. There is always enough to eat and a roof over one's head if one will only stick to the Good Guy or Good Girl rules, which everyone can know just by listening to one's Conscience. It's a bit like this fictitious town, Mayberry, which you may remember from The Andy Griffith Show.
This is almost as much of a fantasy as the story some immigrants are told, that the USA has so much wealth that the streets are paved with gold...
It's true that when the American Continent was first discovered, it was an incredible opportunity for a lot of people. It's true that back then by working hard, an individual stood a reasonably good chance of saving a fortune.
Today, only the canniest and most extreme individuals can save that fortune if they are working their way up from scratch - maybe. What happened?
The first thing to understand is that when the United States of America was created out of some English Colonies, Monarchy was the Government of Choice for most of the major World Powers. Upon winning the War of Independence, our Founding Fathers decided to create a Democracy hearkening back to ancient Athens, Sparta, etc. The Principal Movers of the Revolution were Freemasons, who have knowledge of history that extends as far back as Ancient Egypt some experts say. They decided to create a Democratic government that would supposedly represent all Americans fairly(although at the time that only included Caucasian Males who Owned Land). They also decided to make the United States of America into a Capitalism, a system in which money trumped any values an individual might hold. They didn't know if their government or economics would work. It's been said by many that the United States of America is a Masonic Experiment.
In this rare situation of an entire continent of resources to be consumed by former citizens of other countries (after ridding themselves of the current residents, Native Americans, quite ruthlessly), wealth did indeed seem to be available to all. Resources were consumed at a furious rate, to the tune of the phrase in the Bible that states: "Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, to be like us. Let them be masters over the fish in the ocean, the birds that fly, the livestock, everything that crawls on the earth, and over the earth itself!" But this prosperity through rampant capitalism was based on furious consumption. When the resources dwindle, that's when the system "stops working so well". And here we are in the Future (2013), when we are living in the shards of the Capitalism and Democracy that was set up by the Founding Fathers who's combination of idealism and limited knowledge of what was to come has put us in this predicament. When the Mayberry Fantasy is removed like the Scales falling from the eyes of Saul (Acts, Ch 9, V 18), we now see that the average citizen is labeled as a CONSUMER, and in a dwindling resource economy, public officials, corporations, attorneys, doctors and others who hold posts in the community look at Consumers as COMMODITIES, or ways to make their fortune. In other words: Which reduces the average citizen to the position they were in when the country first began and there were many threats to their fortune- claim jumpers, justifiably outraged and disgusted Native Americans, wild animals, etc. and they would have to work hard on a daily basis to preserve what they had managed to put together, and be watchful of anyone outside the immediate circle of family and friends.
And here, my friends, is the part that savvy, well connected families understand, and the average citizen does not. In a Capitalism where money trumps all, CORRUPTION IS RAMPANT. It's just a function of the factors that were put idealistically in place by the Founding Fathers. It's in EVERY ASPECT OF THE UNITED STATES, even things you thought were working for your own good. People who set out idealistically to "do good and make a difference" are at the end of the day just looking to make a buck and CYA.
In other words, the next one to rob you doesn't look like this:

You have only to delve into the heartbreaking stories now emerging on YouTube and in community organizations to find the wreckage and heartache, stories of people who owe hundreds of thousands in medical or legal bills and have no chance to pay it back and therefore cannot get the all important CREDIT necessary to parttake fully in American life, or people who lost their entire savings to corrupt family court divorce and attorney rings churning their cases for years for maximum profit. People who lost their jobs and had attempts made on their lives for exposing corruption. Or people who paid thousands upon thousands for a diploma and now can't get a job, and mired in debt, can't move forward with their lives. People who were scammed out of their homes or vehicles by crooked banks. The sordid list goes on and on and on in the United States of SCAMerica. It seems that right now, the only people who can get ahead ARE the scammers, and the scammers hold Law Degrees, Judgeships, Posts of High Office in the Community, Corporations and Government, and so forth.
In a situation where the average citizen is surrounded by predators and there is only you and your family to fend them off, FOREWARNED IS FOREARMED. The knowledge in this blog and the links it provides to other Citizen Journalists will hopefully provide that Ounce of Prevention that is worth a Pound of Cure.
STAY TUNED as every week we explore another issue that could save you Thousands if not Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars, Heartache and Distress.
And have a Happy New Year Everyone!
